Actions are being taken to maintain a dialogue between different entities and key stakeholders in the recovery of the Mar Menor and its catchment basin in order to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences as well as to guarantee effective and comprehensive management.

Active citizen participation is considered essential to effectively and sustainably addressing the ecosystem crisis. Therefore, actions aimed at actively involving the local community are being carried out.

Actions and tools are being implemented to keep citizens informed and aware of the situation and recovery of the Mar Menor. All of this is in accordance with transparency and the right of access to information on environmental matters.

MITECO supports various outreach and educational programs that contribute to raising public awareness of environmental challenges, fostering community support, and promoting sustainable practices. They also contribute to developing an informed and active citizenry capable of participating in decisive processes for the long-term preservation of the lagoon ecosystem and its catchment basin and promoting more environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
